Beaches and Natural Attractions
Just 11 minutes away from Merpati Studios, Sanur Beach offers an expanse of golden sand and cool sea water to enjoy.
Take on your friends at beach volleyball, kite surfing, wind surfing, jet skiing, fly a kite or simply kick back on the sand and soak up the sunshine. If you can drag yourself away from the busy crowd of the city; pristine beaches and mountains are waiting to be explored.

Karma beach
The perfect place to chill out. Karma beach is spectacularly located at the foot of 85 meter high limestone cliffs on Bali’s southern coastline at Ungasan, South Kuta. It is an hour drive away from Sanur.
If you want to relax and have a quiet day at the beach, then this hidden treasure is perfect for you.
Crystal blue water and huge rock formations will surely captivate you.

Green bowl
Just an hour drive south of Bali, this hidden beach is known to few. Green bowl got its name because of the algae-covered rocks that can be seen during low tide.
It is also famous for its resident population of bats living in beachside caves – you can often see hundreds of sleeping bats at noon. If you are looking for a place to wind down and have a picnic by the beach, green bowl is the beach for you.
Mount Batur
Mount Batur or Gunung Batur is an active volcano that attracts tourists with its beauty. This mountain is believed to be sacred according to Hindu.
It is 1,717 meters above sea level and can be climbed by physically fit hikers in around 2 hours. Mount Batur is located in Batur village, Kintamani District, Bali, Indonesia. It is approximately 1 hour and 50 minute drive from Sanur.

Mount Agung
Towering over 3,000 meters above sea level, Mount Agung has a huge spiritual significance to the Balinese people.
Mount Agung or Gunung Agung is Bali’s highest and holiest mountain as it is believed to be the home of the God. It located in Karangasem Regency, Bali, Indonesia. It is an hour and a half drive from Sanur.
If you want trekking with a challenge and adventure rolled into one, then this is a good choice for you.
Climbing Mount Agung requires a much higher of physical fitness and mental discipline than climbing Mount Batur.
Trek will take 4 to 7 hours depending on which trail you start. There are two starting points to reach the summit, from Puru Pasar Agung in the South or from Besakih.

This store is one of a kind in Sanur, they offer a lot of organic local produce. Nice fruits and vegetables, and also healthy food to choose from.

Warung Kecil
If you are looking for an authentic Indonesian cuisine that is pocket friendly, this is a perfect place to dine.
This Warung has an original concept, you can select the set of menu of your choice. You will get to choose from the preparations of the day, so you can be sure it is fresh.
They offer a lot of vegetarian dishes. So, veggie lovers you will definitely fall in love with this Warung.
They also serve breakfast, dinner, and healthy snacks. Their paninis and drinks are to die for. This Warung is fully packed most of the time. If you are looking for the best pizza in town, head to Massimo. They serve classic Italian food and tradition.
Massimo is a relaxed, spacious open air bar, a gelateria, and a wood fired pizzeria.
This place is popular to expats and tourists.
The pizzas are excellent, the best you will find in Sanur. They start at around IDR 65,000 (5.50USD) and come directly from the wood fired oven.
This restaurant has the best gelato in Sanur, so be ready to wait for the long line to have one.

Theme Parks and Attractions
No holiday on Bali is complete without a trip to the city’s famous festival and theme parks. Every day is a holiday and an ultimate fun place for all ages.
Sanur Kite Festival
Come the windy season, kiting events happen all over Bali. Sanur kite festival happens every July – a never to be missed event when you are in Sanur. But July is not the only month you will see kites; you can see colorful gigantic kites flying on a perfect sunny day starting July through August.
Hundreds of kite enthusiasts all over the island gather for the annual traditional festival. This started off as a seasonal thanksgiving agrarian festival for the abundant crops and harvests, has become a competitive ground for youth groups to participate and win a prize.
Serangan Island Turtle Conservation Center
Serangan island located south of Sanur, just 23 minutes away you will find the Turtle Conservation Center.
The Turtle conservation center takes care of the baby turtles for one month after being hatched. This gives the baby turtles to become stronger until they are released into the sea.
The conservation center also takes part in educating the locals and schoolchildren to help stop the turtle trade and support conservation. You can take part of releasing the cute baby turtles into the sea for 150,000 IDR.
Waterbom Bali
The most amazing waterpark in Asia just got better – Waterbom Bali. Located in Kuta, just 35 minutes from Sanur you can enjoy a full wet day out with family and friends.
The waterpark covers 3.8 hectares tropical gardens and pools with 17 awesome slides and water games for all ages.
There are plenty of thrills you can choose, from easy-going to heart pumping water activities. You will surely never run out of things to do all day.
Tickets are 39 USD (520,000 IDR) for adults and 27 USD (370,000 IDR) for kids (2 to 11 years old).
Two-day pass (valid within a week) is also available; 66 USD (880,000 IDR) for adults and 46 USD (620,000 IDR) for kids.
Bali Safari and Marine Park
Located in Gianyar, just 25 minutes from Sanur you will find the Bali Safari and Marine Park. It is perfect for a fun day out with family and friends.
This is one of the largest and most visited animal park in the island. Families traveling with kids will surely enjoy Bali Safari. Bali Safari and Marine Park is a recreation complex and education park which have 7 featured products; they are Safari Journey, Bali Agung Show, Mara River Safari Lodge, Elephant Back Safari, Tsavo Lion Restaurant, and Waterpark &
Funzone. Ticket prices varies from selected tour packages.
Monkey Forest Ubud
The Monkey Forest also known as a Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud is a nature reserve and a Hindu temple complex. It is located in the village of Padangtegal, 45 minutes from Sanur.
The residents’ view Monkey Forest as an important spiritual, educational, economic, and conservation center for the village.
There are around 700 monkeys in the forest. The 12.5 hectares of forest has 186 species of trees.
If you are into sightseeing of greeneries, fresh air, and believe that animals should be in the wild, then this one is for you.
Open daily from 8:30am to 6pm, and ticketing hours from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
